Nicole M. Lost 75 Pounds

“I’ve been in the program now for about two years. Maintenance is just maintaining the weight and maintaining the lifestyle.

Like I said before, it is a lifestyle change and it has its challenges. I stay motivated because life has a very different meaning now in a way that it didn’t before. I can be there with my family. I can actually enjoy things and activities that I couldn’t before. I can participate in things I couldn’t before.

I remember being in the situation so I remember how good I didn’t feel about myself and I never forget that feeling. I think that’s what keeps me humble about it all. And when I see people struggling with trying to change their eating habits and changing their lifestyle, especially if you’re a woman, I always trying to encourage them and I tell them that, “It’s okay. You’re gonna get there. Just stay encouraged.”

Dr. Katsura, thank you for being so supportive. Your staff is amazing. I think that is a key aspect of why his program is so successful. He really encourages people and his staff is so uplifting and upbeat at the same time.”

Last year, we told you how Nicole M. lost 75 pounds! That was a great achievement, but now she’s not only maintained her weight loss but lost another 9 pounds. Nichole has lost 84 pounds total with dietMD Hawaii!

Nicole Was 27 and Borderline Diabetic

“It all started with a referral from my primary care doctor. And I was at a point in my life when I just needed to lose weight. My primary care doctor just gave me the referral for Dr Katsura. My weight was at an all-time high and I felt bad about myself and I needed to do something right then.

I am a borderline diabetic and was 27 years old when I started on insulin treatment to avoid becoming a full-blown diabetic. I have a family history of this ailment and so I decided I’ll be the one to break the cycle.”

Losing This Much Weight Has Brought Freedom

“This month is the full year that I have been with Dr Katsura. And I have lost I think about 87 to 90 pounds on the program and it’s has been worth every step of the way. It’s been awesome.

Losing that much amount of weight has brought freedom, I can do things I have never been able to do before. I can grab a size 8 or 10 from the shopping rack and just walk out without trying it on. I can walk for an extended period of time without going tired. I can go to the gym and do things that I could never do before because I couldn’t keep up and would be out of breath all the time. Life has changed tremendously, for the better.”

They Can’t Believe It’s Me!

“My friends and family and I haven’t seen some people for a long time and when I saw them recently during family gatherings or graduation parties, they can’t believe it’s me. A lot of them are like, you know, that’s not you, you know. And I’m like, it’s me guys, for real. Friends have been tremendously supportive over the past process. Family has been a huge support also.”

Dr. Katsura and His Staff Are Very Positive and Encouraging

“The experience with losing weight this way, thru dietMD Hawaii and with Dr Katsura had been challenging at the start because I didn’t get the result right away. But it’s well worth the time and everybody’s input from his clinic and it’s been exciting and fun for me.

There’s never been a bad time where I’ve dreaded going to his office because he and his staff are very positive and encouraging at every appointment. And it’s made the experience a whole more fun for me. Persistency is the key.”

Other Programs Didn’t Work For Nicole

“I tried other weight-loss programs such as Weight Watchers, I’ve done the Hollywood diets. I’ve done whatever’s out there, and nothing seems to work. I gained double what I had initially planned to lose and I always was hungry. I always didn’t feel good.

With dietMD Hawaii, I feel good, because I can still eat, but in moderation. It’s a lifestyle change. And with those other diets, they don’t stress lifestyle change and seem like a quick fix.”

This is Total Transformation

“This is total transformation with your mind and how you view yourself and what you put in your mouth. And it really got down to a lot of the deep issues of why. And I’m glad that Dr. Katsura really stressed, you know, you really need to do some self searching ad figure out why.

With this program I got in touch with my new self and with the reality of everything. So, it’s been very, very good.”

Nicole M’s 2015 Update As She Maintains Her Weight Loss (& Loses More!)

“Maintenance is just maintaining the weight and maintaining the lifestyle because like I said before, it is a lifestyle change. It has its challenges. I think with the maintenance part of it, it’s more of give-and-take and not so much a restricted diet.

Losing it is probably the easiest part but maintaining it has been challenging. I’m trying to find where I’m comfortable at and sometimes my number might change but all in all, I’m still happy with the results.”

It’s Important to See Dr. Katsura during Maintenance Portion

“It’s important to see Dr Katsura to maintain that communication, that we’re all on the same page with what’s going on, health wise and that I’m still where I want to go in. If my goal has changed, somehow, then we’ll re-accommodate it.”

Nicole Stays Motivated

“I stay motivated because life has a very different meaning now in a way that it didn’t before. I can be there with my family. I can actually enjoy things and activities that I couldn’t before. I can participate in things I couldn’t before and just keeping that drive knowing that this is a lifestyle change.

I never forget that feeling. I think that’s what keeps me humble about it all. I remember being in that situation so I remember how good I didn’t feel about myself and when I see people struggling with trying to change their eating habits and changing their lifestyle, especially if you’re a woman, I’m always trying to encourage them and I tell them that, “It’s okay. You’re going to get there. Just stay encouraged.”

It was Mental and Spiritual Transformation

“It was a mental, spiritual and totally different how I look at life now. Things really matter now and there’s a deeper meaning to things I do and people I spend my time with.”

Nicole’s Outlook Has Changed and Developed Self-Confidence
“Well, I’m graduating in December from college. I headed to a Law Enforcement career and so it was a big change for me. Things I’m not qualified to before, now I’m already qualified for.

Looking at what you have to pass now is still a little intimidating but I know I can go in there and test with a confidence that, “You know what? I can do it.”

Dr. Katsura is Supportive and His Staff is Amazing

“Thank you for being so supportive and to his staff, his staff is amazing. I think that is a key aspect of why his program is so successful. He really encourages people and his staff is so uplifting and upbeat also at the same time.”
